Sparks UnCanned: What Happens When the Right People Are in the Room

Working session at Sparks Uncanned, Wheelhouse, NYC

There's a version of the industry conversation that happens at the front of a ballroom, behind a podium, in front of an audience. Sparks UnCanned was not that.

On June 23, Sparks — in partnership with TruNorth — hosted a room of senior marketing leaders at Wheelhouse NYC in Tribeca for a full day built around participation, not observation. No panels. No keynotes. Just peers willing to set aside the polished version of the answer and work through the version that's still being figured out.

Three facilitated sessions. The room worked through the conventions experiential marketers have inherited and whether they still hold, what activation strategy looks like when it moves people, and what AI is — and isn't — changing about the work. Every session was structured for real participation. The conversations were honest. The questions were hard. That was the point.

Senior leaders from brands who lead across finance, tech, media, retail, and consumer goods. The people doing the actual work at the highest level of the industry — and willing to show up and prove it.

UnCanned exists because the most consequential conversations in this industry rarely happen on a stage. They happen in smaller rooms — where before it gets awards, it gets done. We're proud of the one we built on June 23, and we're already thinking about what comes next.
